Dr. Tamberlyn Blinsink is a native of Boone, North Carolina. At
Appalachian State University, she earned a BA in Philosophy and a
BS in Preprofessional Biology. She was a Chancellor's scholar and
graduated with honor's for each degree. Tamberlyn earned her
doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in
Kenmore, Washington, in 2002. Her focus within naturopathic
medicine is in nutritional and botanical treatments.
Even though Dr. Blinsink had a keen interest in nature and whole
foods from a young age; it was not until she spent time on exchange
to Vladikavkaz, Russia that she saw first-hand the efficacy of
botanical medicines and proper nutrition. In 1992 in Vladikavkaz,
Tamberlyn lived in a war zone where food and medicines were very
difficult to find. She accompanied a physician there who made trips
into the Caucasus Mountains to made medicines for her patients.
This experience influenced Tamberlyn to redirect her studies to
medicine and eventually brought her to Bastyr University in
Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Blinsink is currently serving as the Vice President for the board
of the North Carolina Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She
also works as a research editor for nutritional and medical writers.
She continues to explore and study the fields of integrated
treatments in oncology, immunology, and functional endocrinology.
In addition to practicing naturopathy, Dr. Blinsink enjoys hiking,
reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband
and three daughters.
