Dr. Yerby is a naturopathic doctor and graduate of Southwest College of
Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Tempe, Arizona, one of the nationally
accredited 4-year naturopathic medical schools and listed in the 2007 Princeton
Review as one of the “Top 168 Medical Schools”. She has completed state
licensure for two states, including Arizona, considered by some to be the gold
standard of state naturopathic licensing.
In addition to her U.S. education, Dr. Yerby expanded her studies to include
international observation and experience, participating with local doctors of many
island nations, to study the indigenous plant-based medicines of their cultures
first hand. A short-course study with Harvard-trained medical doctor, Dr.
Andrew Weil, introduced her to the benefits of integrative medicine and the
opportunities for health and healing it provides. He is, in fact, her first mentor.
A feature writer / journalist by undergraduate degree, Dr. Yerby writes for area
publications and is a contributing writer for Life Extension Magazine, an
international publication providing for both consumers and healthcare
professionals the current research results of natural therapeutic clinical trials that
support long life and disease prevention
With a broad-based education in biochemistry, a skill for product-evaluation, and
years of clinical practice, Dr. Yerby is experienced in matching an appropriate
supplement program to a person’s individual health needs to assure safety and
effectiveness within a design of prevention or treatment and economy.
Her training emphasizes the non-drug, non-surgical therapeutics that support the
body’s natural abilities to heal, working closely with the professionals in the
community and collaborating with other experts throughout the country, as well.
Dr. Yerby has presented numerous courses on a variety of natural science topics
in the US and Canada and has appeared on both radio and TV shows as an
informational resource for natural science therapeutics.
